The scene is reminiscent of kate winslet and leonard dicaprio on the titanic: a muscular young man lifts luisa seemingly effortlessly into the air, she spreads her arms and appears to fly. This happened at the calendar girl party in neumarkt, which was organized by the bavarian young farmers’ association on saturday. At the event in the jurahalle there, all six bavarian models – the other six calendar pages were designed by girls from austria – were presented to the audience.

Luisa schnapp had organized a bus ride from frauendorf to neumarkt beforehand. She invited her whole fan club. No fewer than 58 people accompanied the 20-year-old toolmaker to the upper palatinate region of germany. Parents, aunts, uncles and friends were part of the party. "On the way there, everyone was already cheering for our calendar girl luisa", reports father achim schnapp.

In the evening, the calendar girls met up with their respective fan clubs in the jurahalle, dressed in their traditional dirndls. A small ceremony with prominent people from agriculture and politics preceded the event. Then it was off in the hall – live music by the band "gipfelsturmer", there was also an acrobatics show.
The highlight of the evening was the entrance of the girls, who were riding on a carriage. The carriage was not pulled by ponies, but by muscular acrobats. There followed the presentation of the individual models on the stage and then the actual presentation of the young farmers calendar with autograph session.

"Standing on a stage like that with so many people was an insanely good feeling, it was really warm because of all the headlights", says luisa. "My family and friends cheered me on all night long."

"The boys carried us on their shoulders to the stage, and then each of them did a different lifting figure with the boys", drive luisa away. "I was asked by the moderator about my usual job: a tool mechanic, grown up on a farm and now working with a lot of men?" He asked her how she came to choose a technical profession rather than a typical woman’s one. "He was really amazed at my manly profession", she tells with amusement.

But even the best party comes to an end. Luisa and her fan club started their journey home early on sunday morning. Achim schnapp prints it briefly and succinctly like this: "early in the morning, everyone was exhausted, we set off on our journey home."

The evening in the well-attended erloserkirche begins with jaunty jazz music from electric piano (konrad buschhuter) and double bass (nikolaus durst). People with red wine glasses stroll through the decagonal architecture. In front of the altar: a speaker’s platform with microphone stand. Unusual impressions for a church. But all this is nothing compared to the trampling, whistling and cheering of the audience, which will be heard again and again in the church hall during the next three hours, as it is usually only known from the public viewing of the soccer world cup.

There had never been an event like this before in bamberg. Poetry slams now take place in almost every city in germany, but today, in addition to three students, five pastors from the region are competing to recite their texts. The topics are as open as the texts she writes are heavy: "god and the world".

Escalation instead of applause

Each performance is judged by applause. Whereby escalating is probably the more appropriate description for the acoustic event that follows all the texts of this evening. Thomas braun, university pastor and organizer of the evening, admits for his profession: "to approach sermons in a more playful way, to take ourselves less seriously, that would do us the least harm."

Student ann katharina re opens the evening with a letter to god. The writing is a bombardment of questions, such as why she was not allowed to enter gotteshauser in scanty clothing, when god knew her naked as he created her. Her fellow student katja steiger wanted to talk to god on the phone right away. At the horer, she confronts him with the question of theodicy, that of suffering in the world in the face of an all-powerful and good god.

In between, the host pastor of the erloserkirche, anne schneider, provides the quietest minutes of the event. Her text "good god, alluding to the cathedral-adorned work of art above the roofs of bamberg, is a linguistic structure of impressive lyrical pragnance, which the audience enjoyed listening to for a long time.

Your colleague mirjam elsel, on the other hand, turns the lecture into a social experiment. Hand messages from the audience are required when the pastor of the hirschaid congregation asks one question after another about her own attitude toward tolerance in various contexts. With a fine sense of the situation, she goes beyond the usual limits of what is openly questionable. No one can escape this text.

Between the lectures, jazz pieces allow the listener to let the heard work. The music could not have been more aptly chosen, since jazz and spoken word (the lyrical recital in front of an audience) share a common history in the 60s of the u.S. In fact, the first poetry slam in history took place in a jazz club in chicago. Regardless of the texts performed, the organizational details of this first preacher slam have to be praised. The evening was as round as the dome of the erloserkirche on the banks of the main-danube canal.

In one breath

The two loudest cheers of the evening catapult maron fuchs and wolfgang blocker (pastor in memmelsdorf-lichteneiche) into the finale. The student recites her text as if in one long breath. A rhymed staccato about the state of the present. The experienced slammer reveals herself to be a "little idealist", who "believes that there is always hope for love." Their spiritual counterpart tells in his contribution about a run-down pastor who no longer succeeds in speaking of his faith with esprit. And yet the i-payer of the text can reply to all those who call his god derelict: "derelict, from heaven to earth!"

The final determination of the winning text was then made by means of a self-ironic voting variant: the audience was allowed to sing the church hit "laudato si" singing as loud as they could for their favorite, which gave maron fuchs the victory.

A much more decisive gain of this evening, however, was the variety of perspectives on "god and the world" dar. And the realization of the poetic power that pastors can develop in six-minute texts when they enter into a competition with each other.

University pastor thomas braun comments on tonight’s experiment as a suggestion for church practice: "i think we pastors have a lot of important things to say, we sometimes just have to package them a little differently in order to reach the people."

"I am impressed by this concert, everything fit", said the respected composer and music professor karl haus.

He had traveled to gobweinstein especially from schweinfurt to hear how one of his own compositions sounded in the basilica. The pre-christmas concert of the district's cultural prize-winners is undoubtedly a high point in the music year in forchheim. It is certainly gratifying to win a prize.
But to sing and make music worthy of the prize for many years is an even greater challenge.

At a professional level
In 1996, the group "querblechein" was formed and brass busters the brass ensemble formed dog heads. Regional cantor georg schaffner thrilled the audience with his exhilarating rendition of balastre's bravura piece. In brilliant playing the organ sounded sparklingly fresh, trumpeted and floated, fluttered delicately and roared heroically.

"We have the right organ and the right organist in gobweinstein", mayor georg lang (CSU) was also pleased. As many french people know, many famous german christmas songs originate from franken. The spread of these songs is due to franz wilhelm von ditfurth, who lived in obertheres from 1830 to 1850.

Songs from home

Karl haus from schweinfurt presented his "french christmas" with songs from the ditfurth collection with songs he found before his hausture and combined them with interludes to a unity.

The small town of hochstadt had a wonderful kerwaw weekend. Stefan kramer, the new chairman of the fire department association that organized the festival, was enthusiastic. This whole package of coziness, music, exuberant mood and contemplation will continue to be cultivated in biengarten and so kramer closes with the almost poetic words: "after the kerwa is before the kerwa"!".

The local kindergarten was a guest at the senior citizens’ group neufang. Together, the "music in bavaria" day of action was a success celebrated. There was singing, dancing and playing that it was a real joy.

For many years, there has been a close relationship between the catholic daycare center st. Laurentius neufang and the local senior citizens’ group an intimate friendship. The joint meetings are guaranteed to be fun and entertaining.

"Matter of honor." It was therefore a good idea for the institutions to join forces on "7". Music in bavaria" action day to participate. And there was plenty of music on thursday at the neufang youth center. It is no coincidence that a gymnastics group emerged from the senior citizens’ group, which has been meeting regularly for around 30 years. The young guests were also amazed when their grandfathers and grannies put on a sock show in their honor.

Exchange between the generations

Of course, the members of the senior citizens’ group also performed songs from their song folders. They proved that they also have a lot to offer in terms of music. The kids liked the songs. Since young and old need each other, great importance is attached to the exchange between the generations. The neufang seniors’ hearts really beat faster every time they meet up together.
